About Us

Who We Are - B26.com was created by Mike Smith for his great uncle, Bob Brockett, and his crew. The idea for the website originated with Bob. Trevor Allen later joined to manage the site's historical content. Today, contributors honor their loved ones and friends by adding dedication pages in their memory.

What We Do -
B26.com serves as a comprehensive online resource, offering a community, research tools, documents, and data to help people develop a deep and enduring understanding of the Martin B-26 Marauder and those who served with it. Our mission is to provide an easily accessible and historically accurate representation of these veterans for their descendants, historians, and the general public.

Who We Serve
- Over 300,000 individuals, including 20,000 pilots, served in various capacities on the Martin B-26 Marauder, with one-quarter serving as aircrew. Using general statistical estimates, there are approximately 7.2 million second, third, and fourth-generation descendants. The number of people seeking information about their relatives who served on the B-26 is growing rapidly. Our well-organized collection of B-26 Marauder materials, contributed by experts and enthusiasts, has proven to be an invaluable resource.

Our Accomplishments
- Launched in May 1998 as an online memorial for Martin B-26 Marauder veterans, B26.com attracts thousands of unique visitors monthly (over 51,000 in June 2007) through search engine visibility alone. Since 1999, our guest book has preserved countless stories from the veterans themselves. Many "Ol' Marauder Men" have reconnected with fellow veterans and rekindled friendships. Descendants have shared information and connected with one another. Contributions from professional historians, hobbyists, veterans, and their families continue to enrich our site.
